Theoretically, teens with younger brains and fewer responsibilities should make better progress than adults. However, I have found that, in practice, too many activities and social distractions pretty much level the playing field. I have had adolescent students with seven extracurricular activities. If there is more than one child in the family, the parents are living a frenetic lifestyle as chauffeurs.

We practice taking one step at a time, making sure the step is clear in our minds before action. That’s not as easy as it sounds, but it pays off handsomely. It’s a smooth flow of clear and complete mental representation to the desired action that works well for most things in life. Golf, tennis, cooking dinner, developing a blog. We grow.
